Bryon will help with anything. Even if it is just a question. I would trust Bryon with anything. He is a magician with tuning.
Hey just wanted to say thanks to Bryon for his assist.
With a little....a lot of help from my friends I installed an uppipe. I damaged my half moon cam seal when I was removing the stock uppipe. It's a really common occurance with LGTs. Basically I was really wrench weary and just wanted to drive my car so I decided to get some assistance at this point.
I went to Bryon and he fixed me right up. Earlier this week I thought I still had a leak, but it was just more oil burnoff from the original leak onto the uppipe flex. It took a long time to burn off, basically all week. (I guess Mobil 1 is pretty good )
However, the smoking stopped finally on Friday, and I was under the car today to put my shocks on, and I took a look at the repair. There was nothing but bone dry clean aluminum, and a nicely sealed value cover.
I was happy, because I was worrying about it all week. Of course Bryon said I could take it right back to him if I had any problems, but I really didn't want to have to do so.
So anyway, this was my first experience with Mead Engineering. Two thumbs up, thanks!
good news everyone! i had the advanced clutch technologies heavy duty clutch and light weight fly wheel installed at mead engineering about 700 miles ago and its great! Bryon did a wonderful job with the install!
Big thanks to Matt and Bryon for fixing up my old turd. My car was randomly hesitating, lacking power, and guzzling more gas than it should. They fixed everything on her, even went above and beyond in a few areas. I tend to be "that annoying guy" who keeps calling for updates on work done and they were always 100% straight forward with me.
I'm in Atlanta training for my new job (railroad conductor with CSX) right now but my dad picked her up, he said it drives great and there's plenty more power now. He mentioned something about the gear ratios being so close together.. I never really had that problem because I didn't have the horsepower to notice but I guess it's all there now . I'm coming home tomorrow to swap cars (took his car down here), can't wait to drive her. I'm supposed to be selling it for a newer LGT but I just might fall back in love with this thing and keep it. Anyways thanks again guys.
I rolled to edge water race way with Bryon Mead,Matt and kep from Mead Engineering We met up with Chad from Kentucky that has a 20g STI. My car went 12.65@107mph and chads car went 12.1 and we spun 1st gear really bad everytime. Im very very happy with the outcome thanks again Bryon with the great work.
All I can say is: Nice work guys
Car feels 100% better, very smooth and all those extra ponnies too.
She pulls real hard now, I love it and can't wait to take her down some of my favorate roads this coming weekend.
Work done was first class, price was fair, service was friendly and I would recommend you guys to anyone who wants work done on Subaru.
Thanks a bunch, if you have any extra Mead Engineering Stickers, I would be proud to fly them on my car.
You got yourself a customer for as long as you care to stay in business !!!
Well, I just had my car graced by the presence of the two finest tuners in Ohio. The car feels awesome, no more bogging this morning, no more wheezing up top, and best of all, it actually pulled HARD last night. It was great! Anyway... Bryon, Matt, you do realize that my car feels stupid fast now? It scares me....
Thanks guys!
I wanted to pass along some really good service done by Bryon and Matt at Mead Engineering. I handed them my 2003 WRX a week or so ago with a large 16G setup to install and tune. All the installed bits are done perfectly. Before dropping my car off, Bryon and I had discussed at length what sort of tune should be done on the new setup. I knew I was somewhat limited by stock clutch and stock gearbox, but Bryon really did an awesome job with the tune. Power delivery is smooth and across the whole rev-band. I would like to say thanks to the guys at Mead for a job well done!
if any of you guys have any questions about the setup in my car or about my experience at Mead, please let me know!
-Blake
There are a couple of things that one needs when visiting Mead. One is a credit card to pay for all the expensive mods you just had Bryon put on and secondly a pair of Depends. The Depends are necessary, because after Bryon works his magic, you’re gonna poop yourself on the drive home. I know I did, and that's why I wear one too.
Seriously, these guys, both Bryon and Matt, are great guys. They took care of my car like it was there own and made sure that I was a happy customer. I wouldn't fly just any "tuners" or manufactures decal on my car, but I proudly display the Mead one. Bryon was happy to answer all of my noobie questions and give me some ideas on how to progess in the future. Matt was also very helpful both in person and over the phone.
Now to the car. Wow! There is nothing like hitting 18.5 pounds of boost without the worry of creep on a STI stage 2 setup. The car pulls so much harder now and to me it just feels so much smoother. This is the STI I was wanting all along. The exhaust rumble is awesome, the power is sick and I can't wait to add on more!
If you need anything done to your Subie, Bryon is the man to do it. I imagine one would be hard pressed to find someone as nice and professional as Bryon. They have my business going forward and they should have your business too!
Thanks again Bryon and Matt for the hook up!

I recently had my car tuned by Bryon at Meade Engineering, and all I can say is.....HOLY SH*T! I never thought that my car could be this fast on the stock turbo. If you live in the Ohio area I insist that you visit his shop. Bryon is a great guy and is very informative about what is going on with your car. I also had him install my rotors, pads, and lines on my car a few months ago and I was very impressed with the work and the performance of my car. I must say that my car is a whole different animal, and I love it. I plan on doing buisness with Meade Engineering alot more. Thanks again Bryon!

I just had my turbo installed and my car tuned by MeadEngineering. Bryon
Meade did an incredible job. Anyone in the central Ohio area who needs
anything done should look him up. I had an APS SR50 installed in my 2003 WRX
and then a really good street tune. The car pulls really hard past 4000 rpm.
120mph comes up really fast. My guess is around 300+ hp to the wheels.
Anyway, Bryon you did a hell of job tuning this thing. Thanks.

Just got my car back from Mead Engineering two days ago and all I can say is I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I had Bryon uninstall the E-Manage that the previous owner had installed not knowing it does no good for more than a few days and had him dump in a base map from my AP. Wow!!! Bryon was great to work with and answered a ton of my newby questions and gave me some great advice.
Anyone questioning if that is where you should take your car to have work done, don't think twice.

Bryon's tuning job on my utec is unbelievable!!! The car pulls incredibly hard. It feels like the car wants to pull even more but Bryon said bigger injectors first.
The performance differance from Bryon tuning it was worth more than adding new parts. That's how noticable it was.
He also did a fuel economy map also. So when I don't need the power I'm not waisting 3.15 a gallon.

On Friday I finally got my car TUNED the right way by Bryon @ Mead.
Before I was running Cobb's AP Stage 2 93oct map with up/TBE. Then I ended up selling that and going with the utec. When we did the first pull he saw A/F in the 9s. I always thought staged base maps were roughly tuned, but I didnt expect them to be that far off.
Now my car pulls a lot harder and runs incredibly smoother, even during daily driving. This is the best mod that I have done to my subaru.

The key is "professional" tuning. There's tons more to it than just the tuning software. An overall knowledge of all the mods, the vehicle, normal problems and issues, and the way they all work with each other is critical. And even then parts will fail and engines will break.
I know enough to be dangerous , but I don't let anyone but Bryon tune my Evo, my old STI, or my new LGT. I've learned to listen to someone who knows what he can and can't do, what's possible, what's safe, and what makes the most difference. Anyone can read posts on the web and be an expert . I prefer to have an expert who actually has worked on hundreds and hundreds of cars tune mine.
Ask anyone who has driven my Evo or my old STI -- killer fast and road race endurance tested. Bryon is the man.

After the meet at National Trails, I knew my AP wasnt doing the job for me, after seeing all the cars run with the UTEC. I switched to a UTEC and had Bryon tune it.
After I got the car back, it was like I was given a completly different car. The turbo was ported for better spool up, the car didnt run the way I was expecting it to run, after the port. With Bryon's knowledge and "professional" tuning there is virtually no lag now, it spools early and pulls hard all the way through, very nice and smooth.
Thank you very much Bryon."

Well I've been running Cobb Stg2 for about two weeks now. Bryon installed my exhuast, full turboback and uppipe and tuned my AP with StreetTuner.
All I can say is: I love my car again ! The difference is incredible from stock and Stg1 to Stg2. It pulls so hard now that I'm glad my wife can't drive a manual car, she would be scared.
Bryon was great and he was very helpful. I had some problems with my first dp and he worked hard to make it fit. It didn't end up fitting correctly so he emailed me everything he tried to do to make it fit. I was then able to let Invidia know that I got a crappy fitting dp and I was able to get a refund. I've also been having problems with the car accelerating around 4000 rpms and Bryon found out, through tuning, that I needed a new fuel pump. After the new fuel pump my car now accelerates to redline
I'd like to thank Bryon for all his help and would like to recommend him to all of us in the Subaru community.

Headed over to Mead Engineering to have Bryon road tune my WRX with 18G using Cobb StreetTuner.
Spent about 2-3 hrs out on the back roads and got her pulling real hard in 3rd and 4th. Initially set the tune up for 18 psi boost. Bryon mentioned that my TXS tmic was cooling real good and said that we could up the boost if I wanted. Got it tuned up to 19-19.5 psi. and called it good. The TXS tmic was doing a great job since it was about 90 degrees outside and with 2 hrs of hard driving. Runs smooth without being peaky. Boost comes in nice and smooth.
I enjoyed having Bryon tune my WRX and he explained things to me and gave me a few pointers. Now I just need to get it on a dyno to what kind of numbers she can pull.
Thanks Bryon

I just wanted to add my $.02 to this board regarding Bryon and Mead.
I stopped in out of the blue on Fri. 07/22/05 and knocked on Bryon's door. I had seen the postings on this site and his shop is only 10 mins from where I live. I was not there for service or to buy anything, just wanted to chat him up a little. I am brand new to the turbo and subie world, as well as fairly brand new to the mods scene (added a supercharger through dealership on last car & various body kits and rims).
Although I was not there about business at that time, Bryon took time out of his day to answer questions, walk me around the shop, and teach me a couple of things about the turbo systems and subies. He then gave me a great break down on the best way to spend my money to get my best performance for an everyday drive while still having a nice little sleeper on the highway. I can not wait to do some business with Mead Engineering.
Now all I need is a raise, a huge bonus, and a small fortune left to me in some unknown relatives will to do what I want to my car
